The active participation of patients, members of the public, GPs and medical assistants in general practice research plays an important role in the German Research Practice Networks Initiative – DESAM-ForNet. The symposium was hosted by SaxoForN, the general practice research network consortium comprising the two networks SaxoN (Dresden) and ForN (Frankfurt am Main).
At the DESAM-ForNet Citizens’ Conference held on 11 and 12 April in Frankfurt am Main, participants exchanged and discussed experiences of active patient and citizen involvement in research through a variety of formats, and developed visions for the future. As part of a World Café, representatives from patient and citizen advisory boards, as well as staff from the DESAM-ForNet initiative, exchanged views on the topic of “Active participation of patients and members of the public in general practice research?” . The results were recorded in a graphic recording.
