Under the project leadership of the Department of General Practice and Healthcare Research at Heidelberg University Hospital, the observational study on heart failure (acronym: BEBOP Heart Failure / DRKS00033582) was launched on 6 May 2024. This is the last of three retrospective observational studies. As part of the study, in collaboration with the participating GP research practices and GP research practicesPLUS, the feasibility of the IT research infrastructure will be tested, and data relevant to GP care will be collected and analysed. Over a period of three months, this study will collect data on the current state of care for heart failure patients in primary care, the implementation of clinical guidelines and the use of the healthcare system, thereby identifying starting points for future studies on heart failure as a clinical condition.
